What TRR Has Been Up To

Today, TRR spent the morning copyediting Issue 61. We’ll resume editing next week and will send along proofs for each contributor to approve before we go to print.

This week, several team members also visited North Idaho College and the Trestle Creek Review team to formulate a plan for reading and editing submissions to the special high school anthology that we’re collaborating on: Rising Rivers. We brainstormed some ideas for the cover and layout as well as established an editing workflow.

Submissions to this special issue are rolling in, and we’d like to remind all of our readers that the issue will feature prose, poetry, and art from high school students and is slated for release at the end of February 2027 during our 4th annual “Be a Creative Writing Student for a Day” Writing Conference. The conference is open to all regional high school students. If you have a high school student in your life who you think may be interested in the conference or in contributing to the special issue, they can submit here. Please note: Students do not need to attend the conference to have their work featured.

We also want to remind all of our newsletter subscribers that we’re looking for submissions as we begin building Issue 62 and would love to read your work. For one month only (Oct. 16 – Nov. 16), you can submit to us directly via email and bypass our Submittable submission fee. Simply email us at trr@lcsc.edu and write “Oct/Nov Submissions” in the subject line. We hope to hear from you soon!
