This year, Talking River Review is working with Trestle Creek to compile a special issue featuring work from high school students in and around the LC Valley. We are looking for prose, poetry, art, & photography from local high school students to display in a special anthology! Those accepted will receive a free copy of the issue. If you’re interested, please read through the following guidelines:
Submission Guidelines
Eligibility
Must be a high school student in or around the LC Valley. Online & home school students are encouraged to submit as well.
Length
Prose: up to 4,000 words
Poetry: up to 5 pieces
Art: 1–3 pieces
Photography: 3–5 pieces
AI Statement:
Talking River Review prohibits the use of any artificial intelligence (AI) in all submissions. Proofreading tools are allowed, but your writing/art should be your own.
How To Submit:
For Writers:
1. Fill out the BFA event form found on the LCSC Humanities Instagram (@lcsc_humanities).
2. Opt in to be considered for the special issue.
3. Keep an eye on your email and the TRR Instagram for updates. Response time is around 1–3 weeks.
For Artists/Photographers:

2. Attach your pieces as JPEGs or PNGs.
