Who Can Submit?
Entries are open to current LC State students only.
What Do I Submit?
Images shot and edited on any mobile phone or tablet including iPhones, iPads, Android phones & tablets, Windows phones, and the iPod touch are eligible for entry. Participants may submit up to three images. Photos should not be published previously anywhere. The posts on personal accounts (Facebook, Instagram etc.) are eligible. The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop. It is okay to use any IOS apps.
Is There a Theme?
Yes! Send us your best work featuring the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley and surrounding area.
When Do I Submit?
The contest runs from Sep 15, 2023, to Dec 1, 2023.
What Do I Win?
One first prize winner will receive an Apple iPad. Their winning image will be featured on the cover of TRR, Issue 56, and they will receive a free two-year subscription to the journal.
14 runners-up will be published inside Issue 56; they will also receive a free two-year subscription to TRR.
Where Do I Submit?
Entries must be submitted to Talking River Review at trrphotocontest@gmail.com. Participants must use their LC Mail account when submitting.
Who Are the Judges?
Submissions will be judged by the TRR team based on artistic merit, originality, subject, and style.
What Else Should I Know?
Submissions must be high-resolution, in the original size, or not smaller than 1000 pixels in either height or width.
By submitting a photograph to the contest, you affirm that you have obtained written consent from all individuals whose image or likeness appears in the photograph (or from the individuals’ parent/legal guardian if any such individuals are considered a minor). You further affirm that you are prepared to provide reliable documentation of any and all such consents upon request. Failure to obtain such permissions may result in the disqualification of the photo submission at TRR’s sole discretion.
By entering the contest, you acknowledge that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by you, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph.
TRR reserves the right to cancel the contest in the event it does not receive enough quality submissions.
All submissions will be posted on TRR’s social media accounts after the contest has ended.
